Since 1999, Brian has been leading research & development tax credit
teams of experts possessing unique knowledge in operational consulting,
engineering, financial data analysis, process profiling, tax and audit
defense. These efforts have led to the recovery of in excess of $100 million
dollars of refundable tax credits and cash flow for businesses across all
industries including, but not limited to, the automotive, chemical, food,
software, metal stamping, point of purchase/store display and many others.
Brian previously served as the National Director of the Research &
Development (R&D) Tax Credit Consulting Services Practice for an
internationally recognized financial & business advisory services
organization.
He has authored articles on research & development tax credits and the
historical evolution of its purpose. Brian is routinely invited to present
on the topic of R&D tax credits to trade organizations, executive round
tables, banking institutions, consulting organizations and other
professional groups.
Brian has 25 years of experience in the areas of business advisory,
strategic tax, international tax and operational consulting. He served both
middle market and publicly traded business owners & management as a tax
partner with Arthur Andersen.
A graduate of the University of Illinois with a Bachelor of Science
degree in Accounting, he earned his Illinois CPA designation and his
Missouri CPA designation. Over the years, Brian has served in numerous
professional associations and community organizations and is a member of the
American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
Robert L. Singer, PE

For over 20 years, Robert has been leading efforts to assess business’
operational activities. These efforts include Strategic Business Planning,
Profitability Enhancement, Process Improvement, Merger & Acquisition
Planning, Crisis Management and Research & Development Tax Credits. His
broad operational knowledge has allowed him to fill a critical role in
identifying qualifying r&d activities. Robert has assisted clients in
identifying and recovering tens of millions of dollars in r&d credits.
Clients have included manufacturers of metals, plastics, rubber, chemicals,
food, electronics and point-of-purchase displays as well as many others.
Robert has a B.S. in Industrial Engineering, a B.S. in Applied Physics
and an M.S. in Management Engineering. His 1993 thesis “A Practical
Methodology for Business Process Redesign in a Service Environment” was on
the forefront of the BPR field and created a comprehensive enterprise-wide
improvement approach that encompasses all aspects of a business. Mr. Singer
has developed and taught business improvement classes and has
taught/facilitated strategic planning and Kaizen events across the country.
Prior to founding RnD Consulting, Robert was Director of Research &
Development (R&D) Tax Credit Consulting for one of the eight largest
accounting/consulting firms and before that was a Director with a premier
consulting firm focusing on the diagnosis of under-performing operations /
organizations and the rapid implementation of improvement plans.
Russell P. Cannizzo, C.P.A.
Founder and President of Russell P. Cannizzo & Company, Russ is responsible for the overall management and operational functions of the firm.
Russ is a licensed CPA with over 25 years of experience in public accounting working with various types of entities in numerous industries including manufacturing, distribution, construction, transportation, as well as various types of service organizations. Serving as accountant, auditor and management consultant to these diverse entities has afforded him a vast amount of hands-on experience with their various interests, concerns and long term business and tax planning. Russ has experience in working with research & development tax credits as it applies to corporate and individual tax ramifications.
Russ holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from Loyola University in Chicago. In addition, he is member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, Illinois CPA Society and the National Society of Tax Professionals.
William F. Cole, Jr.
Bill Cole is an accomplished manager with over 28 years experience in market development, customer support and plant operations within chemical, glass, and rubber industries in domestic and international markets. He is skilled at developing, communicating and implementing marketing strategies; analytical problem solving; use of organizational building tools; and developing promotional marketing programs.
Bill has been devoted to helping small industrial companies maximize core competencies through strategic manufacturing alliances and market development assistance. Prior, Bill was with Flexsys LP, world leader for rubber and specialty chemicals, where he increased profitability through development of distribution channels and manufacturing alliances in Mexico and Central America. He spent 20 years with Monsanto where he was awarded for his market growth achievements in South American and domestic markets, provided customers with technical and marketing training support. While supervising manufacturing operations he broke production volume records while reducing costs.
Bill received a BS in Chemical Engineering from Virginia Tech and more recently received an Executive MBA from Weatherhead School of Management at Case Western Reserve Univ., ranked #1 school for organizational behavior studies.
Shari B. Singer, CPA
For more than 20 years, Shari has worked in accounting and finance in a variety of industries. Shari’s focus has included identifying procedural and technological efficiencies, designing internal controls and support of research and development tax credit projects throughout her tenure. Additional experience includes financial analysis, budgeting/forecasting and internal and external reporting and compliance with regulations related to the telecom industry. Shari was a Manager for 9 years with a Big 6 international accounting firm and served as a division controller for a major telecommunications company for 12 years.
A graduate of the University of Virginia with a Bachelor of Science degree in Commerce, she earned her Virginia and Ohio CPA designations. Shari is active in several community and professional associations and is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
